Due to the MPLS Chef Connect event at the beginning of April the ACF will not be sponsoring its monthly dinner for Kids Café this month. Jeremiah Lanes and Sara Abbie have been volunteering their time cooking and serving the meal, along with the center’s Chef Dan to the families at the Perspectives Family Center in St. Louis Park. Lanes said they are considering going to an every other month model for the remainder of the year.
The next regularly scheduled event at Kids Café is May 20 from 3 to 7 p.m., where chefs are preparing a meal for approximately 65 to 75 people, both the children within the program and volunteers as well. Information for volunteers: There are also children volunteers ages 5-13. Food is served at 5:30 p.m. sharp. Please be plated and ready for service at that time. Dependent on your menu, volunteers and space are available for you. Recommended time to plate is 5-5:15pm to be completed by 5:30 p.m. ready to serve blanket service to the children. They only have 20 minutes to eat, so time is critical. Please be aware of this timeline.
