Upper Lakes Spring Food Show

A popular sample was the Magic Ring donuts in blueberry and strawberry/cream cheese flavors.

We may be a bit late reporting on Upper Lakes Foods’ Spring Food Show—it was held a the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center on May 7—but it’s a good reminder that their fall show is happening on October 29, 2019, at the DECC in Duluth.

The spring theme was “We Make a Great Pair,” and nearly 200 local and national vendors offered product samples and insights for restaurant owners, chefs and others in foodservice who came to see what’s new for summer menus and beyond.

The energy was high with suppliers showcasing unique food pairings, ULF specialists providing tips on profitability, and seminars with topics ranging from Instagram marketing to menu costing.

Out on the show floor, Baker Boy highlighted its innovative Magic Ring donuts in blueberry and strawberry/cream cheese flavors, while local company KellyG’s shared samples of its flavorful wild rice burger. The Center of the Plate booth showcased protein offerings, and a bustling cooking station encouraged customers to try a variety or products in fresh applications.

“We strive to provide ways for customers to see new products, keep up with current trends, and participate in seminars that help them build their business, ” Upper Lakes Foods President Susan Ryan said.
