Faces+ Places To Know: Outside of State Lines



Being a regional publication, it is not often that a trip out of state will connect me with an FSN advertiser. On a recent visit to Chicago, however, to tour the venue where we will be hosting our Food On Demand Conference this spring, that is exactly what happened. Since I was in the “neighborhood,” I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit with longtime FSN supporter Richard Pastorelli.  

As we sat in his Chicago offices, Richard and I talked about his business, Pastorelli Food Products, how FSN has been a marketing resource for him here in Minnesota, and what he is looking to do in 2019 and beyond. While his offices are in Chicago, Pastorelli has a strong presence here in Minnesota, and has used Foodservice News to help create awareness and get in front of local chefs and restaurant operators for several years. Like many of our partners, Pastorelli has products that the Minnesota foodservice community is asking for, such as pizza sauces and  branded vinegars.

Every two years the foodservice equipment side of the industry comes together to network, buy, sell and showcase the latest and greatest equipment. The event—the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers show—was held in 2019 and many of our industry partners traveled down to Orlando, Florida, in early February for the celebration. A collection of more than 600 exhibitors, the NAFEM show certainly brings in a crowd, and longtime Foodservice News partner, CenterPoint Energy, was also in attendance at this year’s NAFEM show. In fact, they had the privilege of presenting an award (below).
