Minneapolis Chapter

Professional Development Class

ACF MCC is presenting a competition informational class, the next in a series of professional development classes. Location and educator information will be shared when it is finalized. Price is $15 for members and students, and $25 for non-members. Profits will be going toward the Chuck Duberstein Fund for professional development. Kids Café

Perspectives Family Center: 3381 Gorham Ave., St. Louis Park, MN

Help out preparing meals through this nutrition and education program for kids. Volunteers don’t have to be professional chefs, simply those who know how to cook and want to help the chapter. Though not necessary, volunteers are encouraged to try new and interesting dishes for the kids. ACF MCC/St. Paul Farmers Market Competition
Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
St. Paul Farmers Market: 290 5th St. East, St. Paul, MN

The chapter has again partnered with the St. Paul Farmers Market for our third annual farmers market competition This is a category KG, ACF and Worldchefs-sanctioned competition. There is room over both days for 25 competitors. You will compete on only one of the days. Registration is first come, first served; visit www.acfmcc.com to download and complete the competitor information form and the competition agreement form. ACF National Award Winners

Congratulations to local chefs Angelo Montes and John Byrne on receiving Cutting Edge awards during the ACF National Convention in July. The award recognizes individuals that are helping to forge the industry toward the future through innovation, leadership, and defining culinary trends and skills. A transplant from Italy, Montes is the executive chef and owner of Sole Mio Ristorante in Woodbury, which he opened in 2012. A native of Ireland, Byrne is the Minnesota Food Fanatics chef for US Foods, a position he’s held for 15 years.

 

Monthly Meetings
