Foodservice News Helps Out Second Harvest Heartland

Second Harvest Heartland got some extra help May 11 as Foodservice News staffers Greg DeMarco and Nancy Weingartner joined others from The List networking group to pack food for the local food bank that provides millions meals for Minnesota families each year.

Organized by Andrea Christenson of commercial real estate company Cushman & Wakefield as a way for her networking group to give back to the community, the team of 12 packed 8,206 pounds of food. Afterwards New Bohemia restaurant in Golden Valley sated the hungry volunteers with a great spread of appetizers, sausages and beverages.

Also volunteering were Blaine Beety of Cushman & Wakefield, Angie Dahl of Be The Match, Bill Ziegler of Premier, Sam Adams and Trish Stevens of Hospitality Minnesota, Bert Kissoondath of Randy's Booth Co., Maria Salas of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Sheba Fideler of Sheba Designs, and Consuela Kult of Blue Horizon Wifi.
